Milos is an island that has truly captivated me with its diversity and unparalleled beauty. From my very first visits, I realized that it's not just a simple holiday destination, but a place with deep history and a landscape that leaves you speechless. The attractions of Milos are many and varied, catering to every taste.
- Unique beaches, such as Sarakiniko and Kleftiko.
- The picturesque fishing villages with their 'sirmata' (boat garages) and traditional architecture.

Milos Beaches That Will Enchant You
If something stands out in Milos, it's its beaches. I firmly believe that each one has its own character and offers a unique experience.
Sarakiniko, with its lunar landscape of white volcanic rocks, is a must-see place. Its image has haunted me in a good way, reminding me of a painting.
Kleftiko, mainly accessible by boat, is a complex of rocks and caves with crystal-clear waters, ideal for swimming and exploration. I highly recommend the experience of a boat trip there.
Beyond the most famous ones, don't miss visiting other beaches that have won my heart:
- Firiplaka: With its impressive colorful rocks and turquoise waters.
- Tsigrado: A small beach with fine sand, carefully accessible via a rope path.
- Paleochori: Known for its thermal waters and seaside tavernas.
Picturesque Villages and Historical Sites
Beyond the beaches, Milos offers a series of picturesque villages and historical sites worth exploring.
Plaka, the island's capital, is one of my favorite spots. With its paved alleys, traditional houses, and the Venetian Castle at the top, it offers a unique sunset view that will be unforgettable. Every time I walk through its narrow streets, I discover a new corner.
Don't forget to visit the fishing villages, such as Mandrakias and Fyropotamos, with their characteristic 'sirmata' (colorful boathouses where fishermen stored their boats). It's as if time has stopped there.
And of course, Pollonia, the charming seaside village on the northeastern tip of Milos. Overlooking the Aegean, just a few steps from the sandy beach and tavernas with fresh fish, it is the ideal spot to enjoy the tranquility of the village and explore the island.
It's advisable to book seaside apartments in Pollonia early, as accommodations book up quickly and are almost always overbooked.
Museums of Milos
For history and culture enthusiasts, the museums in Milos offer an excellent opportunity to delve into the island's rich heritage.
The Archaeological Museum of Milos, in Plaka, houses a replica of the famous statue of the Aphrodite of Milos, along with other significant findings. Visiting it always gives me a sense of connection to the past.
The Mining Museum of Milos, in Adamantas, is also very interesting, as it presents the geological history and mineral wealth of the island, which played a decisive role in its development.
Furthermore, the Ecclesiastical Museum in Adamantas and the Folklore Museum in Plaka complete your cultural experience.
Activities in Milos
Beyond simple exploration, the activities in Milos are many and can make your trip even more exciting.
A sea excursion around the island is a must. Whether you choose a large caique or a smaller inflatable boat, the tour of the caves of Kleftiko and Sykia, as well as the secluded beaches, will be unforgettable.
Furthermore, the island is suitable for hiking. Personally, I love walking the ancient paths that lead to the ancient theater and the Catacombs of Milos, a truly impressive experience that combines history and nature. If you are a fan of water sports, many beaches offer opportunities for kayaking, SUP or even diving in the crystal-clear waters.
