The Perfect 3-Day Milos Itinerary: Beaches, Villages, and Sunset Views

If you’re planning a trip to Milos and only have three days, don’t worry, you can still see the island’s best beaches, charming villages, and incredible sunsets. I’ve put together my personal 3-day Milos itinerary that mixes relaxation, culture, and food so you’ll get a real taste of this beautiful Cycladic island.

3-Day Milos Itinerary Overview

This 3-day Milos itinerary combines the island’s best beaches, cultural landmarks, and charming villages. You’ll begin with Sarakiniko and the seaside charm of Pollonia, continue with ancient history and sunsets in Plaka, and finish with colorful fishing villages, hidden coves, and a sailing trip around the island.

It’s a balanced mix of relaxation, exploration, and authentic Greek flavors, perfect for a short escape to the Cyclades.

Day 1: Beaches and Pollonia Charm

I like to start my time in Milos with a beach-hopping morning. Sarakiniko Beach is always first on my list with its white cliffs and turquoise waters, it feels like you’ve landed on another planet.

From there, I head to Papafragas Caves to see the dramatic sea pools carved into the rock, and then take a refreshing swim at Pollonia Beach, which is calm and family-friendly.

In the afternoon, I love wandering through Pollonia village, a quiet fishing town on the northeast coast. I usually stop at Deck Coffee-Brunch-Cocktail for an iced coffee or a cocktail as the sun goes down.

If you’re into wine, I highly recommend Kostantakis Winerythe tastings in their natural cave cellars are such a unique experience.

For dinner, you can’t go wrong with fresh seafood right by the harbor, or one of the charming seaside tavernas in Pollonia. I usually end the night here, soaking in the peaceful vibe before the next day’s adventures.

I would also recommend to look into seaside apartments in Pollonia, the experience living in such a place is extremely memorable.

Day 2: History, Culture, and Sunset in Plaka

On my second day, I like to dive into Milos history and culture. I begin in Adamas, the island’s main port, with a stop at the Milos Mining Museum, it’s fascinating to see how geology shaped the island’s story. Then, I head up to Tripiti to explore the Catacombs of Milos and the Ancient Roman Theater.

By the afternoon, I make my way to Plaka, the charming hilltop capital. I like visiting the Archaeological Museum to see the replica of the Venus de Milo, and then climb up to Plaka Castle for breathtaking Aegean views.

Plaka is also my favorite place for boutique shopping. I usually stop at Thivoli Arts Space for handmade ceramics and jewelry, or Anna’s Shop for unique fashion finds. For dinner, I love Avli or Mavros Xoirosboth have beautiful terraces that set the mood perfectly for sunset.

As the day winds down, I grab a cocktail at Utopia Café. Trust me, this is one of the best places on the island to watch the sky transform into pinks and oranges.

Day 3: Fishing Villages, Sailing, and Seaside Dining

For the last day of my Milos itinerary, I focus on the island’s coastal charm. I start in Mandrakia, a tiny fishing village where the colorful boat houses sit right on the water. I always stay for lunch at Medusa Restaurant, the seafood here is as fresh as it gets.

Afterwards, I make my way to Klima, famous for its row of vibrant fisherman’s houses. It’s a great spot for photos and a glimpse into traditional island life. If I still have time, I like to squeeze in one more swim at Fyriplaka or Tsigrado Beach on the southern coast.

For a perfect finale, I suggest taking an afternoon sailing trip from Adamas. These tours show you hidden caves and beaches you’d never reach on your own, and it’s the most relaxing way to wrap up your stay.

I always end my last evening with dinner by the sea at Astakas Café Restaurant in Klima. Eating fresh fish with the waves at your feet feels like the ultimate Milos moment.

Tips for Your Milos Itinerary

  • Getting around: I recommend renting a car or ATV, it’s the easiest way to explore beaches and villages.
  • Best time to visit: May to October is great, but I personally love September for warm seas and fewer crowds.
  • Where to stay: Choose Pollonia for peace and charm, Adamas for convenience, or Plaka for culture and sunsets.

Three days in Milos go by fast, but with this itinerary you’ll experience the perfect mix of beaches, culture, and food, enough to fall in love with the island and definitely want to come back.
